Living With... Talks

Attending a professional conference, I felt there was a tendency to focus in on data and outcomes while ignoring the bigger picture behind what we do. In one way or another we are trying to help people live their lives, not just be processed in the most 'efficient' way possible. That makes our jobs fulfilling but also complex and challenging. I wanted an opportunity to talk more freely and openly about these challenges.

The Living With... Talks are an attempt to provide this opportunity, but these challenges are not just confined to the health profession. I wanted to broaden out the discussion and reach out to professionals from other fields and even from other disciplines entirely. I felt that we could learn from each other, be inspired by each other and support each other. Together, we might be able to step back, see the bigger picture, and remind ourselves what really matters - to all of us - in the end.
